Jewelry designer
Marie-France Lemire loves to include replicas of
huacas, or small Pre-Columbian
golden pendants from the vanished
Cocle
culture of central Panama,
in all of her jewelry designs. Cast from molds
made from the originals in the Panama City Museum
of Anthropology and
other pieces in private
collections, these pendants of tree frogs,
eagles, warriors,
and mythological beings were once worn by the
shamans and chiefs of the Cocle
tribe prior to the discovery of
America. The reproductions in the Lemire Collection are
cast in .925 sterling silver and plated with 24 karat gold.
Each piece of jewelry
in the collection
is one-of-a-kind, and when it
is sold, it is gone from her collection forever.
Shipping is FREE in the U.S.
